About
Our mission
Making Way for Mercy
Our mission, inspired by 1 John 3:16–18, to love not only with words but in deed and in truth, drives us to serve thousands of people locally through mobile food distributions, after-work distributions, senior food boxes, emergency relief and homeless outreach.
“Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” 1 John 3:18 (ESV)
Our largest program, twice-monthly mobile food giveaways at the Citrus County Fairgrounds, serves an average of 350-400 families per event, filling trunks with fresh produce, meats, drinks, and more.
What we do
Our programs
Let’s Feed Citrus is a faith-based feeding ministry of Calvary Church. Farms, food banks and USDA programs across Florida send us truckloads of food, and our team and volunteers get it into the hands of neighbors across Citrus County nearly every week of the year.
- Mobile food distributionsEvery other Wednesday morning at the Citrus County Fairgrounds, we load produce, meat, drinks and pantry staples into up to 400 vehicles.
- After-Work DistributionsEvery other Thursday evening at Calvary Church, for families who can't make a weekday morning.
- Senior Food Boxes (CSFP)With Feeding Tampa Bay, we provide a free monthly box of nutritious food to seniors 60 and older on limited incomes.
- Emergency reliefWhen disaster hits, as with Hurricanes Helene and Milton, we get food and supplies to neighbors fast.
- Homeless outreachOur annual Christmas Cookout in Hernando brings a hot meal to neighbors experiencing homelessness.
